TL;DR: I’m charging in Euros now because PayPal is an ass.

Heya guys!

Alright so I’ll go straight to the point. Charging in USD via PayPal isn’t feasible for me anymore, I partnered with an associate in Europe to offer a different payment method with way lower fees for me, which in this case has been Revolut and it has been kind of a blessing for me, I have a card and everything that I can use locally plus the fees are very minimal compared to PayPal and I can even withdraw from ATMs, which PayPal doesn’t offer for me.

PayPal isn’t easy to deal with over here, there are withdraw options in some banks that are easy to use but take a hell of a time (Between 3 to 7 days, usuallyโ€ฆ) and what they charge for the transaction makes me lose money if I withdraw in little ammounts, I can barely make it to pay the bills, rent, goods, you name it.

But there’s one tiny issue, transferring from PayPal to Revolut forces PayPal to convert the USD to Euros (Because the Revolut account is situated in Europe) and when doing so PayPal applies an exchange fee and ALSO the transferring fee, so I end up losing more money than I actually gain.

I keep PayPal as an option because it’s the most used option out there (Despite is the worst now) but it’s very flawed when withdrawing (Very slow and the fees from both PayPal and the bank), so I move my money to Revolut so it’s more flexible to use.

So after a lot of thinking I’ve decided that I’ll be charging in Euros only over PayPal, you can still pay in USD but only over Revolut.

Revolut is a bank very similar to PayPal and they’re more flexible with the fees, you can pay others via link without needing to register using credit card, but you get charged ~2% for the transaction, registered users don’t need to pay any fee and also you have fairer exchange rates in other matters, plus you can request virtual cards and even one-time cards for safer online transfers or purchases.

Also I’ll be giving 5% discount to everyone that pays over Revolut, applies to both USD and Euros.
